Heavyweight cotton rewards patience. Treat it right and it keeps its shape, depth of black and print for years.
Wash cold, inside out
30°C or below, on a gentle cycle, turned inside out. Cold water protects the print and stops the black fading to grey.
Air dry, never tumble
Hang flat or on a wide hanger, out of direct sun. Tumble drying shrinks heavyweight cotton and cracks the print.
Iron on the reverse
Low heat, inside out, and never directly on the mark. Steam from a distance is safer than contact.
Store folded
Fold heavy pieces rather than hanging them long term — the weight pulls the shoulders over time.
Avoid
- No bleach, no fabric softener — both break down the fibres and dull the colour.
- Do not soak printed pieces overnight.
- Wash blacks with blacks for the first few cycles.
- Treat marks straight away with cold water rather than heat.
